Easel for Shared Writing and Reading Experiences

My Students

Kindergarten is a big milestone year for all children. They grow and learn so much throughout the year. Many are entering school for the first time and I believe I can help my students to find a love for learning and excitement to come to school each day. When my students enter the room each day I want to create an environment where they feel welcomed and comfortable. I want them to leave their worries at the door as we become a "classroom family."

My school serves students in grades K-12 and we are a Title I public school in Michigan.

My Project

An easel will allow students to work on shared writing each day. The easel will be high enough for all students to see, yet still allow an appropriate height for these young students to reach. The easel can also be used to hold large books for read aloud and shared reading.

This easel would be used daily in our kindergarten classroom for many years and allow students to work together on their reading and writing.

The extra storage on the easel is great to keep all of our learning materials within reach and available to students. This would be a great addition to our classroom.
