My Students

We love learning together in pre-k! I am a pre-k teacher to a wonderful group of curious and enthusiastic children. We love sharing, singing, reading and learning together during our circle time on the rug!

I am teaching in a Title One elementary school in Brooklyn, which serves a very diverse and high poverty population.

Many of my students are recent immigrants to the US. Some of my students are learning English and for many, this is their first time in school.

My Project

Throughout the day, we have several meetings on the rug in a circle. We reflect, share, sing, read stories and poems. As a teacher to young children, it is important that I am also on the rug with my students. I do not have a teaching easel, which has made it challenging to share charts, poems and big books with my students when we are sitting on the rug.

I am requesting a circle time teaching easel because it has the perfect dimensions to be effective on the rug for my students!

I need an easel that is low to the ground, visible and accessible to my students. With this teaching easel, I will be able to involve my students more directly with the teaching materials I am using. Students will be able to view and interact with the materials (books, charts, pictures etc). We will be able to utilize this teaching easel in countless ways!
