This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of our students are in a high-poverty school district with over 90% free and reduced-price lunch. They are hard-working and dedicated students looking for a chance to grow and develop. This project will give us a chance to observe tectonic plates, and understand how they work.

These kids deserve to have ample equipment, so they can have fun doing work that teaches discipline, teamwork, and self-respect.

Without your help, this won't happen. These kids show up every day and work hard, and they deserve the simple equipment that will help them to be safe and perform to the best of their abilities.

My Project

Students truly only learn science when they can experience and put their hands on something. We didn't grow up learning things by watching other people do them. We learn and have an educational experience when we are the ones trying to actively do things to learn.

That is exactly what this opportunity will give my students.

It will make them problem solve and think about how to put a building together to actually make it stay together. If anything these students will learn that when mother nature attacks we better seek safety.
