Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students want to succeed in school and in life. At our high-poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom. To combat the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Help me bridge the gap.
My students come from a low, socioeconomic status, the inner-city, and have special needs.
I need to do all I can during school hours to help these students progress to well-developed, smart young men and women. To effectively teach students in a wide range of levels, I need many resources.
The majority of the students at the school come from low socioeconomic households. Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials. Since Hurricanes Irma and Maria, things have become even tighter for parents. Help me bring in the necessary materials to help my students succeed in school.
My Project
Teaching students to love and care for the Earth is essential. We only have one planet to live on and we need to keep it safe for the generations to come. My students will research topics about our environment like the use of plastics or air quality. Then, using the Yamaha guitar, they will create and play music about that environmental science topic.
My students have special needs, and I need creative lessons to keep then interested and focused.
The Instacart, hanging folders, and file folders will be used to store all the research and music/lyrics my students write. Each student will have their individual folder and will have easy access to their work via the Instacart. All the work written and created for their songs on helping Earth's conservation will be kept in the Instacart. This way, their hard work is not lost or misplaced. Please help me bring this project to life so my students can create songs about Earth Day and inspire Earth initiatives.
