Help me give my students the skills they needs to learn how to be responsibly for their personal behaviors, delay gratification and generalize counting, through our very own "Student Store."
My students are happy, inquisitive, curious, and energetic K-1 students with autism. As we are lucky enough to be in a levelized program, my students are highly impacted by autism and intellectual disabilities. My students are transported from all around town to my classroom specifically, they are all from socioeconomic disadvantage neighborhoods. All our student are receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My student love to play, and I love finding new ways to teach through play and real functional activities.
My Project
By learning how to EARN money, created with the laminating sheets and green paper, students will learn accountability AND 1:1 counting correspondence. The math lessons continue with an in-school store to count and generalize calculator skills. Students will then earn awesome sensory toys like Play-Doh, from Treasure Box Box Prizes for Classroom. This will all be organized in IRIS 4-Drawer Storage Cart and set up as a store.
By donating to our class, you will not only help to improve and increase student motivation and accountability, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
I would love to create, operate and run a "Student Store," they can use their earned money at and continue to be highly motivated to put out their best effort each and every day.
The students will be earning money for their daily behaviors, hard work throughout the day and completing their classroom jobs.
