My students come to school and are excited to learn new things every day. They keep me on my toes with their inquisitive minds and their desire to work in collaborative groups. Our school is a Title I school. We are located in a small community where every student is given the opportunity to become a lifelong learner. My goal as their teacher is to provide a comfortable environment for them to care about their work in and outside the classroom.
Money management is a vital life skill. The books I am requesting will teach my students a variety of aspects from budgeting to planning, as well as earning and saving. My students learn best when given the opportunity to use hands-on learning materials and fun engaging games. Every item requested is a unique book or game that teaches financial literacy in a practical engaging way. My students are very savvy with many things, but money is a challenging concept. Nowadays there are so many digital options, they rarely get the practice they need with dollars and cents.
There is no better way to teach kids money skills than by allowing them to earn, save, share, invest, and spend their own money.
There is not enough time in the year to devote to teaching money until students reach mastery, but if these classroom supplies were available to them during center time, I know my students would be choosing these activities and learning valuable money skills while having fun! I can make all of this possible with your help! Your donation will give my students this opportunity...an experience that may inspire them for years to come. Thank you!!
