My Students
I teach 3-5-year-old children. Some have disabilities and some do not. Our District is inner-city and many families are low-income. We also have students who have immigrated from other countries. Kids learn best through play and the kids love to play with a variety of toys. Many of my kids also have sensory needs and benefit from a variety of sensory items as well.
My Project
Early exposure to literacy is important for children. Many children have little exposure at home to letters and literacy skills, so they need to have the resources available at school. Working on letter identification, writing letters, letter sounds, rhyming, and retelling stories are all skills children need to learn early to help them with reading as they get older. These materials will help me teach them these skills through play. Play is the best way for preschoolers to learn. These materials will help make learning literacy skills fun and exciting for the children.
