My preschool students are classified with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). They love hands-on activities and learning through play. These kiddos are loving and full of energy. These students need early, meaningful experiences to help kick-start their educational foundation. The foundation of this classroom is based on the individual needs of each of my students. These students have significant needs in the areas of communication and language, social skills, and academics. Through structured routines and repetition, my students experience success and will make a difference in the world! Our classroom size has grown throughout the year, and we are capped at 15 students, all with significant strengths and areas of need.
My Project
Help me give my students some new math and literacy activities that will aide in their early development. Basic skills like sorting, patterning, numeral recognition and counting, along with letter recognition and matching will help us by setting the foundational skills for both math and reading.
My students love hands-on activities that are engaging and fun!
The main materials in this project are geared towards math and literacy concepts. These materials will help embed these early academic concepts into fun and exciting activities. My students sometimes require different levels of support from staff, and these materials will allow staff to support and prompt based on each learner's needs.
These different activities can be differentiated to best meet the needs and abilities of all of my students, regardless of skill level.
