My students need 7 new, hands-on science kit materials for their center.
Science is fun! Science is not fun without engaging materials for children to explore the world around them with.
The students I serve are from low-income families.
To attend pre-k at my school, the students must be on the free lunch program. We are experiencing severe budget cuts this year, so we will not be getting any funding for needed materials in our classrooms.
My students are curious and eager to learn about the world around them. My students need a Weather and Seasons Instant Learning Center, a Five Senses Instant Learning Center, the Can Do! Science Discovery Kits, the Real Bugs Discovery Kit, the Exploring Light Activity Kit, a Magnet Discovery Board, a Real Bugs Discovery Kit, and Color-Changing Touch Squares. With these new science materials, my students would be better able to explore their senses, light, magnetism, and nature. They need hands-on materials in their science center, so that they may independently explore these basic science concepts.
An early childhood approach to science should be totally hands-on, and with these materials it will be.
I believe that a strong foundation in science should begin in early childhood, and with your help it can!
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
