My students need headsets that can be cleaned between uses and adapt to both ipads and chromebooks. This allows us to work on creative multimedia projects!
Having sit spot circles will help us have seating options!

My Students
Imagine every hour you get 23 different, amazing giggling, curious learners excited to learn and use technology! Those are my students, all 250 of them in a small urban elementary school.
Our students come to school with many different backgrounds; many are from immigrant families, some live at the poverty level, and many have learning disabilities.
Despite their challenges, they are kind, curious and very excited about coming to school. Many of them don’t have internet or access to a working computer at home. There is no doubt technology is a skill set that they deserve to access!
My Project
With these portable headphones, students who can’t afford their own will be able to participate fully in multimedia projects. The stigma for students of who can and can’t afford headphones will be erased. The headphones the school had from years ago were designed to work only with desktop PCs. Most of our classrooms now use ipads and chromebooks and the outdated headphones are not compatible with these devices.
In addition, the classroom set will be available for classroom teachers to sign out to provide flipped instructions by video, listening centers and even guided meditation for calm down centers!
Some of our students struggled with attention disorders and the chaos of multiple devices outputting sound creates challenges for their learning.
Right now, students often have to mute their devices but having these would allow for full access to audio in our math intervention program and more!
