Ear-Resistable Needs for Readers

My Students

I have incredibly curious and kind students. For most, this is their first year in school so they are excited and a little nervous. They are learning to be leaders in our classroom, school, and community. They want to do their best academically and socially. This year, I hope for them to learn how to be independent, responsible, encouraging, empathetic, and motivated. They deserve the best first school-year experience where they have the opportunity to grow emotionally, academically, and socially.

My Project

Each of the 30 auditory phones will be given to every student in our classroom. They will use these phones when reading independently and in small groups. They will use these as a tool for reading fluency.

These phones will allow each student to hear themselves as they read, self-regulate their voice, and focus on their reading - leaving distracting noises behind!

The 6 noise cancelling headphones will be used for students that need an extra quiet environment to read. These will allow my students to focus more on their reading and less on the other classroom noises around them. These will be especially helpful for students learning to silent read.
