My Students

My students are some of the brightest and hard working kids you would ever meet. Many of them are forced to grow up at a young age because of their home environment.

I work in an inner-city school and many of my students are forced to deal with things that most adults do not have to deal with.

Many of my students live in a city and aren't exposed to a wide variety of wildlife. Bringing wildlife into the classroom would be invaluable.

My Project

My students live in a city and never get the opportunity to experience animals up close. Bringing a bald eagle into the classroom will give them a better understanding of eagles and help them see why it was chosen to be our national bird. Students will learn about endangered animals and how we can prevent animals form becoming extinct. The bald eagle is a great example of an animal overcoming the threat of extinction. Seeing a bald eagle in real life will help my students when they need to describe national symbols and give them a better understanding of our national bird.
