Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of life, wonder and creativity! We have a passion for science and learning about living things around us in our classroom. Our school has a few garden areas that have sadly lost their luster. They could use some TLC, but we need a little help! Having gardens at our school will give students a chance to learn about different types of plants, insects they attract and how to take care of them. Support would be appreciated.

My Project

These materials will help build gardens around our campus that students and teachers will get to help create and sustain. The seeds, tools and soil will get us at a good starting point!

Classes will be held outdoors at these gardens, lessons can be based on observing and studying the gardens, and a sense of responsibility and pride will be instilled in our students that will be caring and learning from the gardens.

The gardens will create a sense of community among the students/staff, families and neighborhood volunteers. They will also give the school a refresh, a splash of color, and more butterflies!
