Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a K-8 school. My adorable first grade students are excited learners. They are eager to learn and try their best at school. Some have a limited attention span and some are special needs students.
Most of my students are from a low economic background.
Most of them are second language learners. Most of them are beginning readers who love books. Half of my students are reading below grade level but they are capable learners who are making steady growth.
My Project
This requested Apple iPad with case and headphones will make a difference in my students' reading achievement because they can use these materials to go online and practice their reading skills on different educational websites and apps. They love to go to the school Computer Lab to access these types of online sites. Let's give them the opportunity to read some more.
They are so proud of themselves when they read a book to me.
Their faces just light up. It is so rewarding to watch them learn to read and grow in their reading skills. The headphones in my class are broken and we need these six multipurpose ones.
Eventually, I would like to get additional iPads for a small group of students. But, this iPad will be a great start. My learners will be reading and learning through fun ways. They love to play (learn through) fun games. They will be motivated to read online books that are animated and colorful.
