Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever been frustrated because you couldn't find a book to read? My students are having a hard time finding books on their reading level, the books we currently have are either too hard or too easy for all of my students.
I am currently teaching a 2nd grade class in Texas.
My students are eager to learn and absolutely love to read independently and to each other. Our school does it's best to provide students with the materials they need but the leveled books we have on campus are used for guiding reading with the teacher. My students need books that they can have access to during independent reading time and literacy workstation time.
My Project
I am requesting books for a classroom leveled library. The books I have requested are for students in 1st-3rd grade. This age range meets all the needs of my students as they are all currently reading on different levels. This will allow students to pick a variety of books that are "just right" for them. Students will be able to build reading confidence with the use of these books. No more struggling through a book that is too difficult or being bored by a book that is too easy to read!
These books will not only help my students this years, but for years to come.
They will help build the confidence students need to become successful learners and inspire a love of learning.
