My students need 1 Microsoft Surface Pro to take their STEAM activities learning to the next level from paper and pencil to concept.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our students are in an inner-city school as well as a Title I School in Miami, Fl where 95% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The majority of my students are faced with socio-economic challenges which hinders there self-esteem. Despite the hardships our students come everyday ready and excited to learn. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. Although they face many struggles daily, I am hoping to keep conditions as normal and accessible as possible to provide my students with opportunities to create life-lasting, meaningful learning experiences.
The environmental learning opportunities among our student population especially when it comes to technology is tremendously limited.
My students are active, energetic, and excited to learn all that the world of environmental science has to offer!
This Microsoft Surface will propel students in their exploration of STEAM activities. With your help, my students will be closer to reaching their academic goals and life goals through exploration. With the Microsoft Surface Pro as a tool, my students will work hard every day to learn more about how environmental science works. Our school is implementing a large amount of STEAM activities throughout the year.
Having this technology available to the students will further expand their interest in STEAM and engage them in a way that would not be possible through the use of just a paper and pencil.
