This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 5th grade English Language Arts classroom is a place for learning and creativity. My students are busy this year learning essentials of reading and writing while building on the information that they already know.

My students are constantly discussing and engaging in exciting activities that make many of the difficult concepts that go with English Language Arts much easier to understand.

I have a diverse population that includes many different learning abilities as well as a number of English Language Learners. These students tend to be reluctant readers and writers. My goal is to inspire them to love reading and become better writers.

My Project

By bringing a microphone into my classroom we could increase student engagement while giving each student a voice to be heard. Many of my struggling learners are shy and speak softly when reading and participating. I want to alleviate the lack of confidence and help all members of the classroom hear one another. When we have this microphone each student can be heard and because it is a throwable ball the students will WANT to participate to get the ball! Each student deserves to be heard and have a voice for learning in the classroom. Please help my students be heard!
