Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I've put a lot of work into making my classroom a reader-friendly space... now we just need the books! If my students had access to the books they wanted to read, they would be unstoppable.
I teach all Pre-AP classes at a Title I school, and you would be hard-pressed to find a group of kids more deserving than mine.
They are hilarious, inquisitive, sweet, totally bizarre, and have already completely won me over only four weeks into school.
My Project
Though I would love to have a class set of e-Readers one day, I wanted to start out with a small set and work on building my collection. I will use the small set rotationally in my class, focusing on reluctant readers and my students with special reading needs. The hard copies of novels will be used to build class copies of existing novels for our fiction unit where students form book clubs to read a novel of their choice and to build my class library.
Donations to this request will not only benefit my students this year, but for students in years to come.
Help me inspire these amazing young men and women to become lifelong readers and learners!
