This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach PE to students in grades K-5 in a multicultural school that celebrates diversity. My students enjoy running, racing, bowling, dancing, and tennis. They also enjoy reading, math, and playing foursquare, and basketball at recess. Our school is an open-concept school which means that there are no walls that separate classes from one another. Every year, we have a family multi-cultural night where families bring food and wear traditional clothes to celebrate their culture. It's a great time to celebrate the diversity at our school.
My Project
Some of my students come to PE hungry because they are late to breakfast or don't eat lunch at school. I have some crackers from Donors Choose that I can sometimes pass out but it's not always enough. Some of my students are picky eaters. But most of them really enjoy Cup of Noodles.
These Cup of Noodles and healthy Sun Chips I'm requesting would give students the energy they need to jump rope, play kickball and basketball during recess, PE, and after school.
The Cup of Noodles and Sun Chips will make a huge difference to the students who need the calories and who might be having issues with hypoglycemia after long periods of not eating.
