My Students

My high school students are passionate about their education and are constantly striving to learn about new things that stretch their thinking. They enjoy learning and being in school. They take pride in meeting the challenges placed before them and they have tremendous school spirit.

I have been impressed with their desire to learn and improve in all aspects of their education.

My Project

Dystopian literature has engaged students for decades. These novels will help engage my students in reading literature from around the world as I build this unit of instruction.

By having a class set of both The Giver and The Road, my students will be able to check out books and continue reading on their own.

Physical books are critical as they help students retain information. In addition to the class sets, I have added a selection of other dystopian novels as I try to build an in-class library for students to engage in an independent reading project.
