My Students

Many dyslexic readers slowly sound out each letter in a word. This laborious task keeps them from picking up a book and gaining access to information they need to succeed in school.

Dyslexic students want to succeed when they are in the early elementary grades, but often become defeated when they do not learn to read as quickly as their friends.

The elementary school that I teach in needs funds for technology so that dyslexic students in my classroom can practice their fluency with reading apps like "One Minute Reader" every day.

My Project

Your donation will help my intelligent, inquisitive, dyslexic students learn to read faster through targeted practice of passages they can read fluently. Repeated practice will give them confidence in their ability to read, and they will not be frustrated with the reading process. As they learn to read faster, their comprehension skills will increase and they will begin to enjoy the reading process. You will help them jump a huge hurdle that in the past has left them feeling defeated. Success breeds success.

Your donation will lead dyslexic students to success.

This vital skill of reading fluently in the information age will equip them for a lifetime of learning. My dyslexic students will be less frustrated when they use this iPod Touch to practice their reading fluency. Thank you for your support.
