This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a diverse background . We are a Title I school with 90% of students that receive free lunch and a community with a high poverty rate. I am a music teacher and I realized that providing a child with the knowledge to play an instrument is a powerful tool.

"I can't wait until the weekend is over so that I can come to school to learn music", these are the words of a student who has discovered music.

My Project

Our community has generously donated portable keyboards to our school in order to help students foster their love and passion for music. We are building a loan system of instruments for students in order to cultivate the arts.

We are in need of keyboard stands to maintain the instruments.

The stands will help preserve the instruments and improper storage. The vast majority of our students are unable to afford an instrument. Providing them with the tools they need will assist our thriving emerging young artists. In addition, it will make a tremendous impact and help generate a future of talented musicians.
