Dyeing In Science

Help me give my students an opportunity to be hands-on in the science lab by making tie-dye school shirts for the campus. The students are participating in a "Better because I came" project!

My Project

Students here at our learning center are special because they get a second chance when they are sent to us. We are the district's alternative school and we want students to know they will have the opportunity to work on their academic, behavior, and SEL goals and ultimately be "Better because they came".

In each subject, students work on a project that applies to the "Better because I came" initiative.

In science, students will discover all about covalent bonds and the process of creating tie-dye shirts. Students will create shirts for "Student of the Week" and "Employees of the Month". The students will get the opportunity to plan the whole process and then see the final product- their tie-dye shirts!
