As a physical education teacher my job is not only to get my students up and active daily but to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to live healthy active lifestyles on their own. To do this we work to provide them with a wide range of experiences to both meet their educational expectations and to help them find an activity they enjoy.
Due to working at a Title One school the funds for physical education have been limited and prevent us from keeping our program as up to date as possible.
To make sure our students receive the best experience and education possible, we need to upgrade and renew our facilities.
The equipment that is being requested will become an integral part of our PE program. We want to create a fitness center where our students can learn what it means to be physically fit while being able to use equipment such as, exercise bikes, rowers, and ellipticals to gain experience with equipment they will use later on in life. Our vision is to use the bikes and rowing machines as a part of our daily fitness routine. Ultimately we want to build a fitness center where students build a knowledge base of different exercise equipment and how to use it so they can use that knowledge to live a healthy active lifestyle.
As a PE coach I want to make sure my students a prepared and able live a healthy, active lifestyle and have fun while learning to do so.The equipment requested will help to create a dynamic hands on learning environment where our students will be excited to participate and learn which will develop a positive mindset towards exercise and fitness.
