My students need desks to replace ours that were lost in Hurricane Harvey! We are currently using clipboards to work on the floor and these children need their own space please!
My classroom is a hub of activity for second grade children who are high achievers and identified as gifted in some cases. The enthusiasm is contagious, and the classroom is filled with great minds and spirits, but not much else at this point due to tragedy in our little town.
The challenges of providing inspirational lessons, supplies, and materials to these students is ongoing, especially since our community of Orange, Texas and our school, Little Cypress Elementary, was flooded during Hurricane Harvey.
Classes are being held at a large Baptist Church for the entire school year. We have been blessed by generous donations of basic necessities from all over, but still have great needs in the classroom. Any assistance to fulfill these wishes for our children is greatly appreciated!
My Project
Hurricane Harvey destroyed our school and contents, so we now use clipboards and a few small tables to work in a small room at a local church. Our school is undergoing renovations, and we are in desperate need of basic furniture like these wonderful student desks!
My children need a desk to call their own; most are still without permanent homes from the hurricane destruction and this would greatly benefit their academic and emotional health.
We need a place to put personal school materials and create a "normal" environment for these precious little learners. Would you please consider helping us!
