Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students that make up my elementary school are such eager and inquisitive learners. I have seen them face different types of adversity, but enter the doors with a smile on their faces every morning. Now not every day is a "smile on the face" type of day, but I have a vision to make Duncan Elementary a place where no matter what trail they are facing, they have a place that encourages academic and emotional growth. Each of my students are truly a blessing and inspiration behind why I became a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist.
When asked why I chose this profession, I can honestly say it's because I love each of my students like my own, and want to see them succeed and find pride in what they've accomplished.
My Project
Success is a term all educators and parents are familiar with. In order to create the best students, we push our children to begin reading and writing way before the last generation.
Our society has also changed where our children are not outside playing and getting opportunities to grow motor skills with this sedentary age of electronics.
Research has now shown that motor skills development is the leading role of cognition. Incorporating a motor lab with a balance beam, tape, and spinners will help all students in every grade level to develop the skills necessary for learning readiness and academic success.
