My students need spanish/english picture dictionaries to reinforce the new Spanish words they are learning daily. My students also need materials for center work, such as a silabas center chart, dry erase markers and primary journals.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Srta. Medina, can I read a book from the library?" I teach first grade Spanish in a dual language program to vibrant, wiggly and eager to learn first graders. My students love to explore, learn, read and investigate. Every day is new adventure. We are located in Takoma Park, Md. We live in an area where Spanish is a necessity and a must to navigate in. My goal is to prepare and equip my students with a good, solid foundation in the use and understanding of Spanish.
My Project
I am requesting these materials and supplies to help my students get excited about learning, reading, writing and speaking Spanish. The bean bag will be placed in cozy corner to serve as an incentive to get students to read independently. The speaking dictionary will add to the excitement and help to encourage the students to repeat the words correctly.
The students will learn to use the writing center and use the colorful expo markers to help them sound out and write words.
The clothespins will help to build fine motor skills and sorting. These materials will enhance our literacy centers.
