Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are usually very curious and enthusiastic. Many of them are English language learners and come from very humble homes. My school is Title I, which means we are not allowed to ask the parents for donations and I like to expose my students to a lot of experiences that they usually do not get at home. My kids are eager to learn and a lot of learning in kindergarten is done through play by using the children's' curiosity.
My Project
The hands-on toys we are asking for will provide learning opportunities for my bilingual students. while using these materials, students will develop collaboration skills. They will have meaningful learning experiences during independent center time. These materials will also help my students use their imagination and creativity and prepare them for STEAM and to learn how to work in teams and to collaborate with each other, which is a skill very needed in today's workplace and that does not come naturally to little children. These materials will help students use imagination and science knowledge as they use the Kindergarten standards in Math, Science, Technology, and Engineering.
