Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are now a combination of English speakers and English language learners that want to become bilingual. They are just beginning to learn to read, write, and count in both languages. My students will be exposed to material in English and Spanish. Our school is Title I. I have to lend them books so their parents can read to them at home.
My students are energetic and curious learners.
They are learning to develop their own opinions. They enjoy finding patterns and playing card games that develop their mental math and subitizing skills.
My Project
We are implementing the dual language program at our school and are in need of materials that support independent and hands-on learning.
My students will need materials that reinforce vocabulary and language acquisition.
These Alphabet Teaching Tubs will help my English language learners and Spanish speaking students to acquire vocabulary. These tools will introduce my students to the English alphabet letters and sounds. By using these adorable miniatures, my students will be able to have discussions with their peers about items they can actually touch. They will be able to play games and use these items to speak and write in complete sentences.
The storage rack will help keep our dual language classroom organized and will help save space.
