Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a rural, low-income community, with limited opportunities. My students have numerous skills that will help them succeed, but require opportunities to develop and strengthen their natural talents.
My students are bright, active, motivated, students.
They actively work to succeed in and out of the classroom. They get excited by learning new things and have new experiences. They all have the ability to be successful and excel at anything they put their minds to. My students constantly strive to grow and learn. Each day, my students make an effort to improve themselves and their community.
My Project
My students live in a very dry climate. Students make every effort to practice good hygiene. They wash their hands and use hand sanitizer. Their hands dry out and become chapped and dry. Providing lotion with soap and hand sanitizer will alleviate this problem. A humidifier and hard candy are key to relieving scratchy throats and dry eyes after a student is sick. Students return to school after being sick, but may still have a slight cough or minor symptoms. It is hard to focus on classwork when you don't feel good.
Staying comfortable and engaged in the classroom can be challenging when a student is sick.
Providing students with a few comforts to relieve the effects of winter and cold symptoms will help them stay healthy and involved in learning in the classroom. I want to assist my students in overcoming any barriers they face when pursuing success.
