Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The elementary school students at my school are unlike students anywhere else in the world. They are uniquely wonderful in all aspects of their being. They attend a Title I school in a rural area of North Carolina.

In the past year, our school has implemented an intervention block, club day, and AVID, broadening our student experiences and creating new and exciting learning opportunities.

Our goals this year are especially targeted on closing the achievement gap through access to materials and resources.

My Project

My students will use the white boards and Osmo creative kit as part of their library centers. They will get the opportunity to complete hands-on, collaborative tasks with their peers that will allow then to have fun while learning. K-2 students will build foundational skills through interactive gaming. This will make a difference to students because it will allow them to engage will friends while learning curricular objectives. This will hopefully translate to increased comprehension and educational literacy. The VGA adapter will allow students to project their projects to the class and show what they've learning through whole-group mini presentations.
