My fourth grade students are very energetic and eager to learn! They get very fidgety when sitting in a chair all day long. I have some flexible seating in my room, but not nearly enough! Seating options help meet the needs of every child.
We are a Title I priority school where 74% of students are eligible for free or reduced price lunch.
I want to do whatever it takes to help my students succeed because they are our future! They deserve the best!
My Project
Flexible seating with different chairs, and standing desks will make a difference in my room because it will give students the opportunity to feel safe and comfortable, so they can focus on their learning! The dry erase table will give students the opportunity to show their math work right on the table, rather than pulling out whiteboards.
Flexible seating will give students freedom in my classroom to make their own decisions about what to sit on, and where they are going to sit.
Students should be able to have the freedom to sit in something other than a hard chair all day. Students will have the opportunity to sit on a camping chair, or stand while doing their work at a standing desk. Students will benefit from these items by having the ability to choose what works best for them when learning.
I wish I had this opportunity when I was in school, so I want to provide this luxury for my students!
