This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing kiddos! I am privileged to teach these bright and energetic students. We are a Title I school, which means free breakfast and lunch for everyone. We have a diverse population and many different learning styles. We use personal whiteboards, dry erase markers, and erasers everyday. This is a lot more interesting than a worksheet or paper and pencil. The students moan and groan when the markers are dried out or the erasers are missing. We even write on our desks sometimes. Talk about excitement!
My Project
Using dry erase boards and markers significantly reduces the amount of paper being used. Trust me, this is important in a school environment where paper is like gold and copies are limited! Dry erase boards are easy to use in whole group, small group, centers, and game time activities. The students love using them! They are engaged and excited about learning. They can't wait to show all their work and share it with the class. This is such a great way to encourage them and keep them interested. Mistakes mean we are trying and we love how easily they can be erased away to try again!
