My students need new dry erase boards with erasers.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Those are the words spoken by Mahatma Gandhi and I believe it applies to my classroom! My students deserve the best education and the most successful opportunities, and it all begins with ME!
My students come from homes in a very urban setting in Indianapolis.
They come with baggage to school, but they do not let that inhibit them from striving for success! My school is a Title 1 school, which means we are a very high-poverty school. My students do not always come with the necessary materials needed, and that creates a strain on me as their teacher, financially! My students love quick feedback and interactive teaching. I would like to provide them with that experience, but we are in desperate need of more materials to maximize our learning processes!
My students deserve the best, and I am determined to provide them with that! Currently, the boards we have now are several years old, scratched, have sharp edges and holes in them (yes, holes!) and have been defaced over the years. Students spend too much time trying to write around the blemishes and then it takes me time to decipher what's written where! It's quite a hassle! New dry erase boards, markers, and erasers will equip each student with the tools they need to work quickly and efficiently. I will be able to assess them quickly, allowing me to provide more time to spend with students individually to meet their needs.
My students have enough challenges in their lives on a daily basis.
They should not have to come to school and use old, dingy tools to enhance their learning! They deserve the best and I want them to feel as important as I know they are! New boards, erasers and markers are a great way to give that to them!
