Help me give my students a whiteboard to master a variety of concepts. Multiple students can use it at once for class practice. My classroom currently has no resource for this.
I'm teaching fourth grade for the first time this year. My school is very small and is located in a rural town in Pennsylvania. We don't have a lot of resources available to ensure an active learning classroom.
I have a great group of 18 students who are fun and energetic from the moment they walk into the classroom.
They have a great attitude towards learning as they always try and work towards specific goals. They benefit tremendously from updated classroom materials that can help aid their comprehension in all subject areas.
My Project
Currently, I do not have a space to record students' ideas and input about different topics studied in class. Having a dry erase board will fill this need. I want my students to have a place where several of them can work out math problems while I monitor their work. This will give me a chance to measure their understanding of the concept, and give them the opportunity to work away from their desks.
A dry erase board will significantly improve our classroom environment and provide a great learning opportunity for all students.
I will routinely use the board to motivate disinterested and shy students and reward and recognize the efforts of enthusiastic students. By having a whiteboard, I believe student interaction will increase. It will also make the learning experience fun and educational for everyone involved.
