My students need dry erase boards, markers, and erasers for the use of daily math lessons, spelling and language lessons. The students will also enjoy the reward of drawing once they have finished their assignments.
This is a small school district in rural Alaska, where supplies are hard to come by and are very expensive to ship. But the students are smart, kind, and eager to learn. All of the students here receive free breakfast and lunch due to economic disadvantages in our town. This area is about 64% Native Inupiaq population. Some of the kids here have never left the state or the town due to no international road system. We often have students that transfer in and out from the area to a smaller surrounding village.
My Project
I am a first year teacher with an awesome group of students in rural bush Alaska. These dry erase supplies will help with our daily math activities, and our spelling and language lessons. I would love to have enough for each student to use one and enough makers and erasers to go around. Since we are not located to a road system it is hard and expensive for use to receive supplies. With that being said paper is tough for us to receive and is expensive. Lastly, we will also be using these for review along with games.
Students in my class love to be creative and enjoy free draw.
Dry erase boards and makers are a great reward when they have finished all of their hard work.
