My Students

My students are amazing and dedicated. They have been through so much. In the past four years they have had 6 band directors. This has stifled the growth of the band program here. Many instruments have gone missing and the instruments we do have are broken. My kids come from many different walks of life, but it is amazing to see such a diverse group of students come together and make music. I am so proud to be their director and I want to provide them with the opportunities and equipment they deserve.

My Project

Currently our classroom lacks a drum set for the students to rock out on. I am looking to purchase a new drum set to start an after school jazz band. I want to provide the best opportunity to incorporate Jazz Education into our classroom.

Who hasn't wanted the opportunity to learn to play drum set like rock star!

A drum set will provide an opportunity for these students to experience more musical literature. I can only imagine the joy on my students' faces if we had a drum set. I know that to them this will be a sign that the band program is on its way up.
