Drumming Our Way to Fitness

Help me give my students new ways to be more engaged in getting themselves healthy and physically active! We would like to use the exercise balls as our "drum" and we are able to use for other things!

My Students

I work in an elementary school in WNY as Physical Education Teacher. I am lucky to work with majority of the students within the school. I get to know them and build a good rapport with them. Most of these kids look forward to PE as a way to escape the classroom and their work. They want to burn off energy. Some students are looking for new adventures and I want to bring that to them!

My Project

These materials will help engage students in new way to be physically active. I want to give them more of an upbeat way to exercise instead of the mundane way of exercising. I believe the students will like it as it involves some dance, exercise and drumming. What's not to love? When we are done for the intended use of the exercise balls, they can be used for other functions to help students with their balance and core muscles. They are great multifunction equipment that the students will benefit from.
