My Students

My students are happy to be at school where they are cared about and cared for. Home lives are hard, but these students have great potential and deserve the same chances other students get.

I am the K-5 Music Specialist at a Title I school in Everett, WA, where 73% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

The school has a wonderfully diverse climate where students are encouraged to work hard and be a school of readers. In my classroom, I do all I can to provide real experiences and connect with students in an authentic way. I need help with supplying enough instruments and materials so that everyone can participate fully each time they come to music ready to learn.

My Project

Please help me give my music students a new, safe drum to play. In our music classes we love playing in drum circles! I have a few drums that are old and cracked, this new drum would allow me to replace one of these old drums with a great sounding and safe to play drum.

Students at my school thrive when we drum together, having a high quality drum for each student is so needed!

These high risk students come together and build their confidence, team work, focus, and enjoy drumming. Even non-English speaking students can drum with us successfully their very first day at school!
