Hooray! This project is fully funded
Outstanding musicians in the making are what my students are to me! As their returning music teacher, in one year alone I have witnessed the growth of my students musically and academically. They are now more confident in their music performances, they are eager to read and notate music and they are open to learning as many instruments as they possibly can. The students continue to thirst for music knowledge and ability and it my responsibility to continue filling their cups!
The scholars at Southside Elementary School are quickly developing their musical skills and abilities. As a result of this, I am constantly adding to their repertoire and introducing them to new instruments. Last year, our music program was fortunate to acquire ukuleles from our Donors Choose project. We have been utilizing these instruments and over time, they have to be repaired. For this reason, I am asking for new ukulele strings.
The students are also in need of drumsticks in order to excel in the area of percussion.
I purchased buckets and plan to teach the students bucket drumming. The techniques they will learn will be vital to success on any percussion instrument and prepare them for participation in future bands and orchestras.
