Have you ever had to start over? Every four years? Our school is located on Air Force base housing with a 100% military population. My students have worldly experience through their deployments and military life experience. They are determined, responsible, and have empathy toward their peers. They have a variety of backgrounds and schema based on their military lives. This can, at times, hinder their progress in academics. However, our students are pushing through any obstacles that they face -- and will continue to do so!
Our science curriculum is very interesting, but can lack engaging lessons when it comes to understanding the microscopic world.
These microscopes and prepared slides will allow my students to actually view plant and animal cell structures.
Without microscopes, our lessons rely solely on google images and animated clips. Imagine how clearer their understanding - and interest - of organelles will be when they can actually view preserved samples. The microscopes will also be their first experience with the tool. Currently, they view microscopes as something that they will encounter when they are older. It is time to plant that science seed today!
