Help me give my students the means to make their presentations exciting by helping us purchase a microphone and speaker. Many of our presentations are done in front of large audiences, or outside.
I have the privilege of working with students that have a thirst for knowledge. They are dedicated and hardworking. They are kind and sensitive and care for each other and those outside the classroom.
We do many presentations in my classroom where students are given a platform to "show off" what they have learned in creative ways.
We often invite younger students to watch these presentations to have my students serve as role models. We also have my students' parents, and other family members, come into the classroom to celebrate our learning during these presentations.
My students are generally more shy than other students because they are very critical of themselves. One of my main goals with these students is to help them foster their confidence and speaking and presenting skills. I want them to feel confident to get up in front of people when they leave my classroom.
My Project
My students are constantly giving presentations at the conclusion of each unit we study in class. We often invite parents, families, and other classes to come in and watch our presentations. It is usually difficult for the audience to hear my students when we get a large crowd. The microphone and speaker would solve this problem.
I would also like to see my students feel special in front of an audience.
They work hard on their presentations. They research, collaborate, create, write scripts, rehearse, and refine. I want them to feel proud of what they have done, and there is something about a microphone, and voices that carry into an audience, that make the students feel like the stars they are!
