My School District sits in a small rural section of southwestern Pennsylvania. The community is committed to the education of their children and very involved in the schools. The majority of students in our school district come from low-income households yet arrive at school on most days full of energy and with an open mind to learning.
Over half of our students receive free breakfast daily, and many receive free lunch as well.
These students deserve just as great of a learning experience as any other student. That is why I have made it my mission to give these student every opportunity in the world to succeed starting with a fun and exciting education!
My Project
Our students are very interested in STEM related activities. We have been working all year on various ways to introduce students to new STEM fields and encourage their engagement in STEM areas.
Drones will allow K-5 students to discover and develop coding knowledge, visual spacial abilities, and collaboration.
The drones will give students a chance to learn and use their coding knowledge to program a drone to fly. The students will have to think about where they want the drone to go, how to get it there, and the safety of everyone involved along the way. Students will practice and develop problem solving skills and perseverance as well. These drones could change our students lives. Thank you.
