My students come from a diverse community of 117,000+. With a school size of 1600+, the students I get are some of the best! We are a Title I school where family support and classroom budgets are hard to come by. With all different types of backgrounds (rich, poor, homeless, homed, divorced, merged family) students are still excited to come into my classroom and learn.
My students desire hands on experiences in the field they want to study.
These students are focused on working in the aviation/drone field to become a pilot, mechanic, controller, designer.
Our school is one of the few in the nation to have students choose specific career academies. Within the academy they choose a pathway that matches a career they are interested in. I am in the STEM academy and serve as the adviser for the aviation pathway. This includes manned and unmanned flight and all jobs related to them.
With the booming drone industry we want students to be career ready when they graduate.
The drone simulators will help us get students interested and ready for the commercial drone world. The project will help provide students the chance to get some hands on experience with remote flying of drones.
