Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is probably the hardest year for students and teachers. Our students have grown up in an inner-city; many of these children face poverty, violence, and obscenities of life on a daily basis that are well beyond what most of us could imagine. Despite all of this, they come to school ready to expand their minds and continue to explore.
My students continue to be hopeful and strive for their very best even though they have not had a real start to their schooling.
They are always looking to learn new things and explore different subjects more in-depth; they come to school hungry for knowledge, trying to do their best to learn as I try to do my best to give them a good education and an introduction to the American way of life.
Our school has limited resources, and the parents have even less, so anything that donors can do is so very appreciated.
These children deserve the best, and I plan to keep doing my best to provide them with the skills and tools they need to be successful on their journey in life after leaving my classroom!
My Project
We are looking to obtain some equipment as we are starting a girls and boys soccer club at our school. We need equipment so the children can play and practice their moves.
The Gym has old equipment and the kids asked for this club specifically, with limited old equipment, out of all the sports the children asked for, I want to help the coach get started with some wonderful soccer equipment.
This is what the kids want so we are determined to make it happen!
Last year was very hard for the students to feel a sense of pride at school and this year they are more excited than ever to have the chance to play a sport for their school and represent LMM with pride.
