My second, third and fourth grade drama students are a wonderful mix of ethnicities, abilities, and fabulous personalities!
Some of my students have never performed on stage before now, and it has given them a new confidence and strength, both in life and in the classroom.
These Title I students are hard-working, dedicated, creative, and in need of a variety of opportunities to see and experience more of the world around them. As global citizens and learners, they are ready for these new experiences!
What makes a musical go from good to out of this world? The costumes and props, of course! These brightly-colored additions will not only add "character" to our characters, they will add pops of color and charisma to our production.
Having quality costumes and props allows our actors and actresses the opportunity to identify with and "get into" their characters.
Aladdin can truly transform from Street Rat to Arabian Prince, Jasmine can hide her identity and then wield her power as a Princess, and Jafar's evil nastiness can be seen in the swish of his cloak and the twirl of his mustache!
