My students are wonderful, expressive, creative individuals, who come from a variety of home environments. The students in my classroom are mostly second language learners, coming to school with very little exposure to the English language. Our school population is mostly Latino, ESL, low-income students who are thrilled to have the chance to learn and participate in the classroom environment. The students are active participants in a positive school environment that encourages all students to succeed, and they are held to a high level of standards.
My Project
It is important to provide learning opportunities that allow students to engage in the academic area of science. The science table will create a permanent space in our classroom that will house all our science tools, experiments, exploration and observations.
"Like learning to count or to read, learning how to 'do' science is a lifelong process," Peggy Ashbrook.
My students deserve an opportunity to explore, predict, create, measure, question with science tools. Science is an academic area that is inclusive, but not limited to reading, math and writing. It will be incredible to have a space that will allow for our tools to be visible and interactive throughout the school day.
