My Project

After being in first grade for the past 12 years, I made the switch to third grade. I took very little with me in terms of things but dreamed just as BIG on how I was going to help my third graders succeed! I wanted to ensure they were learning in an environment that fit as many of their academic, physical and emotional needs as possible.

Picked out and voted on BY THEM, these chairs will provide yet another option for my students to use in our Dreamy Flexible Seating Classroom.

Since September, I have offered my third graders 8 different choices on where and how they would like to sit for the day. From puffy chairs with private tables to a table with stools to the classroom expected desks with chairs, my students take ownership of where they sit, who they sit with and where they learn best.

It has proven to be a breath of fresh air for not only them but for me as well. We easily transition from one thing to the next; don't let much get us down; and allow ourselves just enough freedom to be our very best, independent learners.
