My students need a doll house for creative and imaginative play in centers!
This project expired on January 4, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My preschool classroom is two half-day sessions. My AM class has 8 students with special needs along with 4 peer models. My PM class currently has 6 students with special needs along with 4 peer models.
My students are just beginning their school experience and having hands-on, active play, and engaging activities available for them create many meaningful experiences!
Many of my students come from low income backgrounds, so having plenty of materials available for them to explore and learn about will help them grow as they begin their journey and then transition on to kindergarten.
My students need an updated doll house with furniture that allows them to use their imagination through play. The multiple levels and variations of furniture will allow them to create their own play schemes and bring their play to life! While engaged in imaginary play, my students will be using symbolic representations for the objects and actions they are exploring.
Doll play will also allow my students to express emotions such as empathy and compassion while we learn about our social-emotional skills in the classroom.
This provides great modeling for these concepts that are so important in their early years!
