This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are energetic and ready to learn when they come in my room in the mornings. I have a wonderful class this year with students who love learning reading and math. I want my students to be able to use technology, mainly computers, by the end of this school year to prepare for 3rd grade.

My students are kids that come from low income families who aren't able to have access to some of these technologies.

My school is 90% free and reduced lunch. My students do not always have the tools at home to help them succeed academically but they strive for perfection while in my classroom. They love getting the opportunity to use computers and IPAD's when our school has them.

My Project

My students will use this laptop in their math and reading stations. This will allow one of my groups to use some of the websites that we have subscriptions too to practice their basic math facts and reading. This can also be used on our Promethean board that is in our room so the whole class can participate.

This will greatly help to improve my classroom because it will be giving my students access to a computer that they don't have at home.

With only 2 desktop computers in our room this will allow more students to utilize all the positive things this laptop can offer. My students deserve to use things that are up to date in todays society and this will not only give them skills for school but for the outside world as well.
